# Apple Object Capture

> Apple's photogrammetry technology that creates a 3D model from a series of photos.

Also known as: Object Capture. Category: 360, 3D and output formats.

Object Capture is Apple's photogrammetry technology, available on Apple platforms, that reconstructs a textured 3D model from a series of overlapping photographs of an object. It is available to developers as an API, so applications can turn their own photo sets into USDZ and other model formats.

## How PhotoRobot uses it

PhotoRobot Controls integrates Apple Object Capture, which is why it can output 3D models in USDZ, OBJ with MTL, and STL. PhotoRobot's tutorial shows how to create a 3D model with Object Capture from photos taken on a PhotoRobot turntable.
