# Batch processing > Applying the same edits to many images at once instead of one by one. Also known as: batch editing, bulk operations. Category: Photography techniques. Batch processing applies the same operations, such as cropping, background removal or colour correction, to a whole set of images at once. It is the basis of consistent, high-volume product photography. ## How PhotoRobot uses it In PhotoRobot Controls, editing operations apply to all images of an item by default, and scopes limit them to a folder, a swing angle or one image.
