# BYOK (bring your own key)

> Using your own API key and contract with an AI or cloud provider inside third-party software.

Also known as: BYOK, bring your own key. Category: Software.

Bring your own key (BYOK) means that a customer supplies their own API key for a service, such as an AI model provider, instead of using the software vendor's account. Data and costs then run under the customer's own contract and security policies.

## How PhotoRobot uses it

PhotoRobot Intelligence supports BYOK in PhotoRobot Controls with OpenAI, Azure OpenAI, Anthropic, Google AI (Gemini) and GitHub Models. Customers pay for computing directly to their provider at their negotiated rates; PhotoRobot states it charges no data brokering fees.
