# CubiScan

> A dimensioning system that weighs and measures items; PhotoRobot records its data with the product images.

Also known as: CubiScan 325, dimensioning system. Category: Hardware.

CubiScan is a family of dimensioning systems that measure an item's dimensions and weight automatically. They are widely used in shipping and receiving to capture product data without manual measuring.

## How PhotoRobot uses it

PhotoRobot supports all CubiScan products at the data level and recommends the CubiScan 325, which measures items up to 90 x 60 x 60 cm and 25 kg. Measurements are stored as product metadata, exported with the images and used to adjust the robot automatically, for example to raise the camera to the vertical centre of the product before a multi-row spin. A [SmartCode](https://www.photorobot.com/glossary/smartcodes) starts a measurement, and PhotoRobot makes an optional supporting table for the device.
