# Exposure

> The amount of light that reaches the sensor, set by aperture, shutter speed, ISO and light output.

Also known as: exposure triangle. Category: Lighting and optics.

Exposure is the amount of light recorded by the camera sensor for an image. It is controlled by aperture, shutter speed and ISO sensitivity, and in the studio by the output of the lights; a correct exposure keeps highlights and shadows within the sensor's range.

## How PhotoRobot uses it

Capture PI Advisor in PhotoRobot Controls evaluates exposure balance, highlight clipping and shadow density and suggests changes to aperture, shutter speed, ISO or light intensity.
