# Flying camera effect

> Video in which the camera seems to fly around the product, made by combining rotation with camera movement.

Also known as: flying cam. Category: Photography techniques.

The flying camera effect is a video in which the camera appears to move freely around the subject. It is produced by combining the rotation of the product with movement of the camera, typically changing its elevation during the shot.

## How PhotoRobot uses it

PhotoRobot produces the effect for [360 product video](https://www.photorobot.com/glossary/360-product-video) by combining a motorised turntable with the Robotic Arm, whose elevation is programmed in the video timeline. On the [Virtual Catwalk](https://www.photorobot.com/robots/catwalk), a model walking on the rotating treadmill in front of a fixed camera gives a similar result.
