# Focus stacking

> Combining several photos focused at different distances into one image that is sharp throughout.

Also known as: focus stack. Category: Photography techniques.

Focus stacking combines several exposures of the same scene, each focused at a different distance, into one image that is sharp from front to back. It extends depth of field beyond what a single exposure allows, which is useful in macro and product photography.

## How PhotoRobot uses it

PhotoRobot lists focus stacking among the shooting functions of its production workflow and among the processing techniques integrated in PhotoRobot Controls.
