# GTIN

> GS1's globally unique product number behind EAN and UPC barcodes.

Also known as: Global Trade Item Number, EAN, UPC. Category: E-commerce and workflow.

The Global Trade Item Number (GTIN) is a globally unique product identifier managed by GS1. It is encoded in EAN and UPC barcodes on retail packaging and used by retailers and marketplaces to identify products.

## How PhotoRobot uses it

PhotoRobot exports can put the GTIN into file names through the export template, as GS1-compliant retailers require; see [GS1 image standards](https://www.photorobot.com/gs1-image-standards).
