# Image hosting > Storing images on a server and delivering them to websites on request. Also known as: product image hosting. Category: Software. Image hosting is the storage of images on a server that delivers them to websites and apps on request. Product image hosting adds features such as resizing for each device, compression and embeddable viewers. ## How PhotoRobot uses it PhotoRobot hosting runs on a Google Cloud Platform image CDN with real-time scaling: every image is scaled to the resolution of the end-user device, and JPEG, PNG and WebP are supported. JPEG compression is configurable in real time, so no duplicate files are needed. Hosting is billed by storage, with unlimited views and data transfer. ## See on photorobot.com - [Image hosting with Spin Viewer](https://www.photorobot.com/software/image-hosting) - [PhotoRobot Viewer image hosting](https://www.photorobot.com/blog/photorobot-viewer-image-hosting) ## Related terms - [CDN (content delivery network)](https://www.photorobot.com/glossary/cdn): A network of servers worldwide that delivers files from a location close to each visitor. - [PhotoRobot Viewer](https://www.photorobot.com/glossary/photorobot-viewer): PhotoRobot's hosted viewer for image galleries, 360 spins, hotspots and panoramas on websites and e-shops. - [SpinViewer](https://www.photorobot.com/glossary/spinviewer): PhotoRobot's embeddable 360 product viewer for spins, adjustable in real time on any device. - [Automatic publishing](https://www.photorobot.com/glossary/automatic-publishing): Making finished images available online immediately after capture and processing, without manual upload. - [Image compression](https://www.photorobot.com/glossary/image-compression): Reducing the file size of an image, either without loss of data (lossless) or by discarding detail (lossy). ## Where this term appears on photorobot.com Mentioned on 17 pages.
