# Kiosk mode

> A locked-down, simplified interface that shows an operator only the controls an administrator allows.

Category: Software.

Kiosk mode is a locked-down user interface that shows operators only what an administrator allows, often just a button to take a photo and move to the next step. All settings stay hidden in the background.

## How PhotoRobot uses it

In PhotoRobot Controls, Kiosk mode runs configured wizards so that operation can be reduced to a start button or a barcode scan. PhotoRobot states this lets studios employ staff with very little training. The PINK medical system uses Kiosk mode so clinic staff only scan the patient's barcode.
