# Live View

> A real-time preview of the camera image on a computer screen, used to frame and focus before capture.

Also known as: LiveView, camera live view. Category: Software.

Live view shows the camera's sensor image in real time on the camera screen or, when tethered, on a computer monitor. It is used to check framing, focus and position before capture.

## How PhotoRobot uses it

PhotoRobot Controls streams Live View from the camera through its stream server, also to several screens so stylists can follow the scene. Live View can be detached into its own window on a second monitor, and a wizard step can switch it on to check that the object is centred.
