# MultiCam

> PhotoRobot multi-camera arch that captures several elevations at once for multi-row 360 and 3D photography.

Also known as: MultiCam PRO, MultiCam PRO XL, multi-camera rig. Category: Hardware.

The MultiCam is a PhotoRobot multi-camera system: an arch that holds several cameras at different elevations above a motorised turntable. All cameras capture during a single rotation, so a multi-row spin or a photo set for a 3D model is produced in one pass.

## How PhotoRobot uses it

The MultiCam arch has 13 camera mounting positions spaced 7.5° apart, a top-view range of 0° to 90° and motor-assisted height adjustment to the centre of the object. Two neighbouring positions cannot be occupied at the same time, so with enough camera holders up to 7 cameras can be mounted at once – which is why the website mentions both 13 positions and up to 7 cameras. The finer division lets you place cameras exactly where a particular use case needs them; cameras on neighbouring positions would differ in angle too little to be useful. The arch comes in PRO and PRO XL sizes (950 mm and 1250 mm radius). PhotoRobot states it can capture 144 or more images in about 20 seconds. Shutter timing across cameras is handled by the [SynchroBox](https://www.photorobot.com/glossary/synchrobox).
