# Preset

> Saved PhotoRobot Controls settings for capture and editing, applied automatically to similar products.

Also known as: presets, capture preset, editing preset. Category: Software.

A preset is a saved set of settings that can be reapplied with one action. In PhotoRobot Controls a preset combines capture settings (angles, camera and light settings) with post-processing operations, so similar products are photographed and edited the same way automatically.

## How PhotoRobot uses it

PhotoRobot describes presets as predefined rules that govern the process from capture to online publishing. Presets can be assigned when an item is created, to many items at once, through CSV import, or automatically by sorting an item to a [shelf](https://www.photorobot.com/glossary/sort-to-shelves). [PI Profiles](https://www.photorobot.com/glossary#pi-profiles) can suggest adjustments to a preset or a new one.
