# QR code

> A two-dimensional barcode that stores text or a URL and can be read by phone cameras.

Also known as: QR. Category: E-commerce and workflow.

A QR code is a two-dimensional matrix barcode that can store a URL, identifier or other text and is readable by dedicated scanners and phone cameras. Unlike a linear barcode, it can hold much more data and be read from any orientation.

## How PhotoRobot uses it

SmartCodes can be printed as QR codes or barcodes. PhotoRobot Touch is launched by scanning a start QR code, and the Smart Links page provides QR codes for its endpoints.
