# RAW file

> The unprocessed sensor data saved by a camera, with maximum editing latitude.

Also known as: RAW, camera raw. Category: 360, 3D and output formats.

A RAW file contains the largely unprocessed data from the camera sensor, before white balance, sharpening and compression are applied. It offers the most latitude for editing but is large and must be developed before use.

## How PhotoRobot uses it

PhotoRobot supports RAW files from compatible cameras only within the local network, because of their size: files are downloaded from the camera and stored in structured folders. Special RAW development workflows are available on request.
