# Throughput

> How many products a studio or workstation finishes per hour or shift.

Also known as: studio throughput, production speed. Category: E-commerce and workflow.

Throughput is the number of products a studio or workstation completes per unit of time, for example per hour or per shift, including capture, processing and delivery. It is the key capacity measure of high-volume photography.

## How PhotoRobot uses it

PhotoRobot works with a production cadence of roughly one product per minute per workstation, which it states amounts to nearly 500 items per 8-hour shift. It notes that logistics and preparation often take longer than photography itself, which is why its software covers in-studio logistics too.
