# TIFF

> A flexible, often uncompressed image format used in print and archiving.

Also known as: TIF. Category: 360, 3D and output formats.

TIFF (Tagged Image File Format) is a flexible raster format, often uncompressed or losslessly compressed, used in print production and archiving. Files are large and not suitable for display on the web.

## How PhotoRobot uses it

PhotoRobot Controls can export TIFF, but its item export manual describes the format as rarely needed, kept for compatibility with legacy systems, and not recommended.
