# Top view

> A photo taken from directly or steeply above the product.

Also known as: top-view, overhead view, bird's-eye view. Category: Photography techniques.

A top view is a photograph taken from directly or steeply above the product. It shows shape, layout and the upper surface, and is a standard view in GS1 image sets and for products such as shoes and food packaging.

## How PhotoRobot uses it

PhotoRobot camera arms and the MultiCam have a top-view range of 0° to 90°, so top views are captured in the same sequence as the spin rather than in a separate set-up.
