# Wizard mode

> PhotoRobot Controls mode that guides an operator through predefined capture steps one at a time.

Also known as: wizard, wizard-guided workflow. Category: Software.

Wizard mode in PhotoRobot Controls guides an operator through a predefined series of steps to capture a product, such as creating or selecting an item, capturing a folder, importing images or checking the position in live view. Each step can show instructions and sample images.

## How PhotoRobot uses it

Wizard steps are defined in a JavaScript-like format and can be scripted by PhotoRobot consultants; users can script simple ones themselves. A wizard needs valid presets, a workspace and matching folder names. Wizards are then typically run in [Kiosk mode](https://www.photorobot.com/glossary/kiosk-mode), and PhotoRobot Touch uses the same principle on the iPhone.
