# Workspace

> In PhotoRobot Controls, the list of hardware (robots, cameras, lights) used for a specific photoshoot.

Also known as: workspace configuration. Category: Software.

In PhotoRobot Controls, a workspace is the list of hardware used for a specific photoshoot: PhotoRobot modules, cameras, lights and other accessories. Creating a workspace is the first step before capture.

## How PhotoRobot uses it

When a workspace is set up, robots on the same local network are added from a list, cameras are assigned and, for Fast-shot mode, linked to a robot by a shutter cable. Wizards, shelves and presets refer to a workspace so that the right devices are used automatically.
