20 Years of Innovation in Automated Photography

How does PhotoRobot commemorate 20 years of achievement in automated photography? Join us for the celebration to revisit our many accomplishments, meet the team, and hear the plan going forward.

To mark the day, PhotoRobot Founder & CEO Kamil Hrbacek hosted a party at the PhotoRobot Showroom in the Czech Republic. In attendance, there were Managing Director of PhotoRobot - North America, Steve Embree, and experts from nearly all moving parts of the company. This included valued team members in business management, sales & logistics, support, development, manufacturing, and, of course, photography.

Receive highlights from the event ahead. We recap 20 years of innovation, showcasing both our milestones, and our ongoing commitment to our customers across six continents.

Greater Support for North America & Worldwide

Let’s firstly celebrate PhotoRobot North America. Since 2004, PhotoRobot has installed automated photography systems the world over, and now North America is receiving even greater support. This is thanks to Managing Director of PhotoRobot - North America, Steve Embree, and PhotoRobot’s new business address in the USA.

The additional base of operations enables even more direct access to manufacturing, development, and service for the USA, Canada, and Mexico. At the same time, this helps us to provide new & existing customers worldwide with the most expedient service possible.

In this regard, Steve Embree (formerly President of Snap36) bridges the gap to PhotoRobot North America. His invaluable experience spans 30+ years in Retail, mostly in executive leadership roles in Fortune 500 Retailers. This knowledge helps guarantee client satisfaction with every PhotoRobot installation, from understanding the technology to building tailor-fit solutions.

Clients in North America gain the same access to the latest innovations, from manufacturing to development – directly from the manufacturer. All with streamlined distribution and service, just as PhotoRobot clients across Europe, South America, Africa, Asia, and Australia have come to expect.

Two Decades of PhotoRobot _Controls

Next, it’s impossible to talk about the company’s evolution without recognizing the dedicated developers behind PhotoRobot _Controls App. Our Dev Team ensures that _Controls remains a stable, world-class platform that is both scalable and sustainable. They build and optimize code flexible enough to meet specific needs, while likewise ensuring that the entire PhotoRobot ecosystem can benefit from all new features.

This includes optimizing features around new as well as existing customers, and brings us to the release of PhotoRobot _Controls App 2.12.5. The latest version of _Controls delivers improvements focusing largely on the quality of use for our customers. There are improved automated photography processes, and enhancements for overall usability and stability of the application.

These updates also coincide with the launch of PhotoRobot Touch, an iPhone app integrating iPhone photography into automated workflows. Touch enables the capture of handheld still images & detailed shots, or the tethered capture of simple 360 spins. The application features programmable, wizard-guided steps to visually assist production, and to benefit companies that photograph multiple items at once. That, or production lines who simply have longer shooting lists to follow, such as for car reselling or reverse engineering manuals.

In the end, applications such as these wouldn’t be possible without our team of extremely talented developers. Their work grants clients access to the newest innovations, with direct communication around every update for quick onboarding and smoother workflows.

Next-Generation AI-Assisted PhotoRobot Modules

Now, for the PhotoRobot showcase, we have to welcome our next-generation, AI-assisted automated photography robots to the PhotoRobot family. Over the years, PhotoRobot manufacturers have always strived to push the boundaries of design, and the latest robotic modules are no exception.

First among these, there are the C-Class Type turntables. These signature turntables are available in two models to support different size plates: the C850, and the C1300. Both models build on the basic principles of the Case 850 and the Frame, but also add unique value of their own to the automated photo studio.

These accompany a new variant of PhotoRobot Cube, the Cube Compact, and a new Air Cargo robot. There are also now a selection of premium ghost mannequins for sale, and some more niche installations using PhotoRobot technology. For example, recently designed PhotoRobot ART installations support the museum & antique photography sector, enabling the automated photography and digitization of valuable collection items.

Additionally, PhotoRobot PINK, the Medical Robot Photographer was designed in cooperation with valued partners to automate the photography of patients in a clinical setting. The system functions as an automated photo booth to optimize the picture-taking of patients in clinical procedures and health centers. It has built-in cameras, automated lighting, and photography automation software automatically editing and delivering images to a clinic’s internal systems.

Modules like these are exemplary of what PhotoRobot together with our customers are able to achieve. Meanwhile, the ability to combine multiple PhotoRobot systems into unique configurations means the evolution is only just beginning.

20 Years of Excellence with Broncolor Lighting

Finally and also noteworthy of the celebration, PhotoRobot received a personalized Broncolor Flashlight to commemorate 20 years in partnership. Since the start, PhotoRobot software integration of Broncolor photography lights and LEDs has helped customers attain the perfect lighting for automated photography. Outputs range from shadow-free still images, to 360 & multi-row spins, virtual 3D models, object animation, and 360 product video

Thanks to the use of powerful Broncolor strobes, PhotoRobot signature turntables are able to capture these outputs often without ever stopping object rotation. The strobes are accurate and fast enough to freeze objects in place for photographs, and thus significantly speed up our customers’ photography.

We can also achieve picture-perfect images when using turntables in traditional start-stop mode, or when using LEDs for continuous lighting. All thanks to the reliability of Broncolor lights, and with their full integration inside PhotoRobot Controls Suite.
