Shutter release cable
Also known as shutter cable, remote shutter release, wire shutter. Category: Hardware
A shutter release cable connects a camera's remote port to an external trigger so the shutter can be fired without touching the camera. In automated photography the trigger is the robot's controller, which fires the camera at exactly the right angle.
How PhotoRobot uses it
PhotoRobot control units fire cameras through their digital outputs; a dual output can, for example, pre-raise the mirror of an SLR with one signal and expose with the other. PhotoRobot prepares a shutter cable with a camera-specific connector, which is why it asks customers to confirm their camera model. Third-party cameras are supported when fired by cable from the control unit.
